Hello

I've been trying to set up transaction download for my Principal
401(k), which is now supported in Quicken 2005 & 2006.   However, when
I try to "activate" this service, all Quicken does is load a web page
up that takes me to Principal's login screen.   No activation takes
place, and Quicken never prompts me for any further information.

I think that quicken has the wrong URL or wrong setup information for
my Principal account.  Is there someplace I can reset this data?  It
has persisted through an update to Quicken 2006 from 2005,  through an
uninstall & reinstall with restore of the same file, and through an OS

I currently use Schwab online bill payment system. Rather than going
into the Schwab site, I would like to initiate the payment via Quicken.
Is there a way to do this without paying the fees associated with
Quicken Bill paying service?

Hi there!

What I'm trying to do is figure out what are my monthly recurring
expenses.
E.,g. rent, water etc.
I'd like to just be able to mark certain payees as recurring so I can
report on them.

Quicken has the scheduled transactions feature which I don't like
using. One reason I don't like using it is that it sticks these
reminders as scheduled transactions and forces you to take action on
them. Why do I need that when my water bill has already arrived and has

Can someone tell me whether there are any fees (or other drawbacks)
associated with signing up with Quicken.com?

I normally don't sign up with any online organization with regard to
finances - especially one with access to my Quicken files.  However,
from what I can tell, I have to become a member to use some of Quicken
Premier's functions, such as the mutual fund comparison and analyzer.

If there's any way to access these functions without becoming a
Quicken.com member, I'd appreciate any info on that.    ....Or am I
being overly paranoid about my financial data becoming available online?

Thanks!

To pick winning stocks, you need the tools to separate
the companies with superior sales and profit growth from
the ones who are just making a lot of noise. Besides
choosing the right companies to invest in, you must
learn how to read the market's trend so that your timing
is right.

And picking the next big winner based on the news is not
as likely as picking the next big loser. The news media's
time-frame is usually very short, sometimes just that
particular day!

Can someone tell me whether it's possible to compare mutual funds from
within Quicken 2005 Premier?  A number of Load funds have been
recommended to me to invest in, but I would like to do some research to
find equivalent No-Load funds.  (Preferably without incurring any sort
of service fee to do the research.)

If not from within Quicken, are there any easy-to-navigate websites that
could provide this info?

Any help (as specific as possible) with this would be greatly appreciated.

When I imported my credit card transactions, most of the charges were
assigned a reasonable catagory but in the 'income' type. Is there any way to
control the type parameter while inporting? Is there any way to make a bulk
correction of the incorrect type information?

I have some shares in a Mutual Fund that just moved from Class B to Class
A.  What's the best way to record this in Quicken? (Deluxe 2006)

Thanks

Came across this spreadsheet based expense tracker in
link below

http://www.youneedabudget.com/

In some ways this tracker can do things that are more
useful to me such as the "envelope" approach

can someone more savvy abt Quicken look this excel
based app above and tell me if Q2006 can be made to act
like it? Do everything it can?
